It’s good to talk together very honestly about the injustices we’ve experienced, the wrongs done to us. And any wrongs we ourselves have done too. But it’s also important to not just talk… but do everything we can think of and act on to right the wrongs. To end racism and white supremacy!!! Wishing you courage, love, and strength on the journey ❤️💜
There must be space to be safe, to be who we are, to explore what we need, to nourish ourselves, to rest and relax, to feel grounded and feel the fresh wind blowing, to dream bold dreams and define ourselves. To listen and hope, to feel strong and envision what our time needs, to grab and hold on and be of good courage, to come into our power, to claim this space and to answer the call. On this day, I pray for such a space ❤️💜
So often we want to make change for our families–especially for our beloved children. Also parents, grandparents or sisters and brothers. And that’s a good thing, an awesome thing! But we have an even bigger family: the children, sisters, brothers, and elders of our community, our country, and the world. Make change for them too–with joy and devotion. Give thanks for vision and a path to follow!! “Love one another…” Jesus said. (John 13:34-35) Peace and blessings as you work for change… ❤️💜
With this collage, I reflect on how to make changes. How to grow? Change doesn’t ever come easy, I don’t think.. There are steep, rocky trails and places with no path. At least it can feel so hard to see anything.
As in the struggle to end racism… We might be struggling, scrambling, climbing, falling back, crawling forward, collapsing, praying… Over and over, on and on, again and again. And one day we’re shown a leap we could make, a risk we could take, and now, this time, we say, Why not? And do it.
And when we launch out into the unknown, some people see us, are inspired, and cheer. They might be encouraged and reach higher themselves, see a new way, step out, and go for it, now after so much labor and pain. We take the leap and they launch out too. Suddenly we’re in a new place together. So completely surprising and so full of hope. What can’t we do in this brand new place? ❤️💜
In this picture, I’m looking at how we can be transformed throughout our lives, from baby to child to adult to elder. So much of this growth seems to just happen naturally … but there’s also a world of things (lots and lots) to learn and teach–by connecting and interacting with other people. Many decisions, some good and some bad… Many joys and sometimes regrets…
What kinds of experiences/interactions lead to the transformations we need in our lives and want to see? What do we need for our country and communities? Wishing you peace and many blessings as you seek answers to your questions and God guides you along your path ❤️💜
Wanting to prayerfully survey the scene? When trying to make big changes, whether personal or collective in nature, it’s often important to survey the landscape, review and evaluate the forces of good and evil at play… To ask, what’s right and wrong here? Beneficial and not? What kinds of changes are needed, and how can I and/or the community bring change about? Wishing us all peace and blessings as we ask for guidance… ❤️💜
Do the right thing! Work for justice! But likely you won’t be rewarded immediately. You might have to struggle and fight a long time… The reward comes in a more just community/society– achieved bit by bit, piece by piece–in growing and expanding equity.
Speak your truth! Speak truth to power! Refuse to be silenced. “They persecuted the prophets who were before you… ” In fact, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:10-12) And in recent debates, “nevertheless, she persisted…” Let’s all persist and persist and persist!! How else will we get where we need to be going? ❤️💜
