Petra says: “I used to invite my new friend Peter to parties, but he never came, said it wasn’t his thing. Sometimes I’d wish for Peter to show up and get me away from something that went bad, what had become a total mess. But it was my issue with the wrong kind of spirits… not Peter’s thing at all.

One day I was partying, but scared and miserable. I prayed to my new God to rescue me. The next thing I knew Peter had shown up. He helped me get home that night, and he helped me leave all the parties behind, as I learned about Jesus and his message of justice. I learned a new way to live and be happy. Thank you, God, for answering my prayer!!” ❤️ 💜

Petra: I continued in search of the sweet, sweet spirit I’d felt in childhood, with my mother. But maybe I became not so sweet myself?

I tried to be good, an angel even… But the spirit moving me wasn’t holy.

I was a party girl. The spirit I knew best was alcohol… I sought other ways to connect with people, but I couldn’t seem to find that true, loving spirit. (To be continued…) ❤️ 💜

Thinking about how God’s gifts of the peace-filled justice kingdom and the loving, helping Holy Spirit are such blessings to us. And how the other part of this anointing is that we have been chosen and commissioned to action—to work to bring justice and peace (God’s kingdom) on earth, as it is in heaven. Happy Father’s Day to all!! ❤️💜

The promise of the Holy Spirit is for us and everyone who calls on the Lord. It is a promise of help, guidance, and inspiration as we seek God and our “neighbors” and seek to serve God and truly love ALL PEOPLE. ❤️💜

More thoughts about the coming of the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit came to the early believers, they experienced “tongues of fire.” Praying that we might know the same thing — a fire in our hearts and minds for justice, and tongues and words to express what we feel and know. ❤️💜🔥

Praying that we are all filled with the Holy Spirit and begin (and/or continue) to speak out for justice and equity as the Spirit gives us ability…❤️💜

Good things often take a long time to grow, like children and knowledge, love and relationships, purpose and movements, understanding and faith, justice and peace… What are you growing? Remember, patience if it takes time ❤️💜

Today the church celebrates Pentecost, the day long ago the Holy Spirit visited thousands of people from many different cities, nations, cultures, and languages, gathered to observe the Jewish festival of Pentecost. And brought them together in mutual understanding and unity to embark on a new way of life in God’s kingdom. They marveled that though they spoke many different “foreign” languages, they all understood each other and wanted to follow Jesus and live into his teachings about a new way of life.

The Spirit was definitely moving on their behalf!! I will be posting more in the days to come about what happened back then, so we can reflect and on it and learn more about how God’s hand reaches out and helps people, so we can learn to reach back and take God’s hand in faith… My prayer is that we in our time, today and going forward, will also have a visitation from the Spirit and receive the strength and help we need from God to mend our broken world and bring justice to our lives and the places we live. Wishing everybody peace and God’s many blessings ❤️💜
