Servant of All

Jesus said, “You know that the empire’s rulers lord it over the people, and their great ones are tyrants over them. However, it won’t be so among you, but whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be a tireless worker for the community, just as I came not to be served but to serve and to give my life for many.”

Go with the New Way

Jesus: “No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old cloak, because the patch pulls away from the cloak, and a worse tear is made. Neither is new wine put into old wineskins; if so, the skins burst and are ruined. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.”

SO RIGHT! NO ONE TRIES TO LIVE IN THE OLD WAY ONCE THEY KNOW THE WAY OF JUSTICE AND LOVE. WHO WANTS TO LIVE A LIFE OF OPPRESSION, POVERTY, CONSTANT DEPRIVATION? NOBODY, ONCE THEY’VE KNOWN FREEDOM AND PLENTY.

Build on Solid Rock

Jesus told us when we build something: “Be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall because it had been built on rock. And everyone who hears my words and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. It fell—and great was its fall!” Let’s be wise as we try to build out God’s kingdom—not on anything weak or shaky but on a strong, unshakeable foundation!!

What Is Your Treasure?

Jesus taught us: “Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves can’t break in … For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” In this picture, the woman’s T-shirt says her treasure is God’s people. Please Lord, let your people and kingdom be mine.

Endure to the End

Love vs. hate. Caring vs. greed. Which side are you on?

Jesus tells us, “You’ll be hated by all nations because of me. Then many will fall away, and they’ll betray one another and hate each other. And many false prophets will arise and lead many people astray. And because of the increasing chaos, the love many used to have will grow cold.” However, we can’t let greed and hate win!

But those who endure to the end with Jesus’ teachings, in God’s kingdom, will be lifted up, kept safe, and preserved. “And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations.” Hallelujah! Praise God, our loving parent and guide!

Persecuted for JUSTICE? The kingdom of God is yours!

The merciful will be blessed, for they’ll receive mercy.
The pure in heart will be blessed, for they’ll see God.
The peacemakers will be blessed, for they’ll be called children of God.
Those who are persecuted for the sake of JUSTICE will be blessed,
because the kingdom of God is theirs.

Yes, when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on account of Jesus and his revolutionary movement, you WILL be blessed!! Rejoice and be glad; your reward will be great in heaven, because in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. ❤️ 💜

Turn-Around Teachings

Jesus thought of everything differently. He had so many turn-around teachings: “If anyone hits you on the right cheek, turn the other also,” Jesus said; “and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give him your jacket too; and if anyone forces you to go one mile on his way, go a second mile too.” He told people: “Give to everyone who begs from you; don’t refuse anybody who wants to borrow from you.” In other words, DON’T BE GREEDY AND SELFISH, BUT HAVE LOVE, COMPASSION, AND A CARING SPIRIT.
