The Living Water of Love

Jesus tells us to love our neighbors. And he shows us over and over in his ministry how to reach out to other people, sharing himself and all his skills, meeting them at their point of need, and sharing his desire to interact with and love all people. He’s always living and moving among the people with kindness, truth, and love.

For example, in the story of the Samaritan woman at the well, he asks the woman to give him water to drink, and he then tells her about (and ultimately gives her) his “living water” of love, acceptance, and life in the kingdom of God. He tells her he is the Messiah, and she, believing in him and all has given her, hurries to tell everybody in her town, where people are close neighbors of the Jews, but Jews and Samaritans don’t usually interact or associate with each other. They all hurry to come meet him too, and they ask him to stay awhile in their town. Jesus ends up staying two days with the Samaritans and giving his living water to lots and lots of them. ❤️ 💜

Tell Stories Till Justice Rolls Down

Let’s tell our holy stories–all of them–of Injustices, wrongs, inequalities, heartbreaks. More stories and even more, of our struggles and battles–and also our victories. Till the heartbreaks and victories, struggles and injustices, battles for right and over wrong all come together throughout our communities, around the country, and across the globe. To form, as described in Amos 10:24, a justice flood that “rolls down like water … like an ever-flowing stream.” Hoping and praying for justice and equity for us all!! ❤️ 💜
